Walking Research

Here's a space for participants to share their experiences walking.

Assignment 1:
From Friday, May 13 - Friday, May 27, record the number of steps you take each day
and journal about your experience walking in your home neighborhood / area.

In the past two days, I've "walked" approx. 55,000 steps - mighty impressive, but primarily because I've been going out dancing the last two nights to celebrate finishing up work in Taiwan!

I have been walking quite a bit here, though - definitely more than I've been walking as a grad. student in Texas.

A difficult climate and much traffic congestion has made walking some times a bit unpleasant in Taipei (it has been raining buckets lately, too), but I've found a route that's fairly pleasant - broad side walks, some tree cover, and separation from traffic (scooters on the sidewalks are a big deal here).

Looking forward to seeing how my walking here in the next few days compares with what I do in Austin on Thursday & Friday . . .
